Doctor's Appointment 3/31

Just wanted to take some time to update everyone after today's doctor appointment. Sunday I started having some dizzy spells and I could tell my blood pressure was up. Instead of calling the doctor I decided to wait it out until today for my regularly scheduled appointment. Come to find out. This morning my heart rate was at 141bpm, and my blood pressure was 163/95. Yikes!! I also have protein in my urine.

Diagnosis: Preeclampsia.

No wonder I feel so awful. At home right now enjoying down time during Drew's nap, but I am definitely not feeling any better. I keep losing color in my face and feeling like I am going to pass out, I also keep having contractions in my lower back, but nothing that would indicate labor. Hmmmm.... what else. Oh, I also found out today that I am 2cm dilated, but I still have a thick cervix (might be TMI for some). Oh, and I haven't gained one pound since my last visit. This made me very happy, and also gave me permission to finish off a box of Girl Scout cookies on my own... oops!!

This evening Gigi (Tim's mom) is going to be taking Drew for a couple of hours so that Tim and I can get organized. I thought I still had 5 weeks to do that, but I really feel like we are running out of time now. My baby shower is on Saturday, I hope I am not on a downward spiral until after that.

I have some really cute pictures of Drew from last week. I will update everyone just as soon as I can.

Busy Week

Last week we decided to take a family trip together just the four of us before Lyla joins us. Tim's grandparents let us borrow their trailer, so we loaded up nd headed to Pismo beach for the weekend for what was supposed to be an enjoyable, relaxing and refreshing weekend. I can definitely say that there were some highlights and moments of laughter, but overrall boy was it a lot of work!! Drew's incessant energy was impossible to tame out in the open. They really need to make fenced in campsites so that parents with young shildren don't have to try and herd their children all day long. Though we could be inside in the trailer Drew just wanted to be outside running around, and so did Jeffy!!! The two are quite the energetic pair.

We left Bakersfield on Friday morning and the weather here was absolutely beautiful only to arrive at the FREEZING COLD beach, and I mean freezing!! It was so cold and I was so unprepared that we had to spend Satuday morning at the laundromat to wash the only warm outfit I had brought for Drew so that he could re-wear it. On a happy note, I got to go shopping at the Carter's outlet over there because I couldn't just let me baby freeze for two days.

As soon as Drew hit the sand he was gone. I have never seen the kid run so fast. Neither Tim nor I could keep up with him so we sent Jeffy in to help control him. Instead, he knocked him straight down to the ground. Drew was amused. . . mouth full of sand and all!

Bow-wow Bow-wow.... No Drew that's a Birdie. . .

It was so cold on the beach that day that his feet were bright red from walking barefoot in the sand. Poor baby!!

Drew and Dad going down the slide at the beach.

Walking the beach trails by the campground. We could hear the ocean, so we walked, and walked, and walked, and never found the ocean.

This was my favorite part of the whole trip. We took Drew and Jeffy to a beautiful park and just let them run wild. Notice he is always running AWAY from me... my little Mr. Independence.

Drew throwing the ball for Jeffy.

This was the only thing warm the whole weekend. The sun had come out just enough to warm up Shamu and boy was it nice. Drew really enjoyed sitting on the big Bow-wow... no Drew, its Shamu!!

Lyla Update: I am now 34 weeks pregnant and having LOTS of contractions all day long. I am starting to get really excited, but don't want to get my hopes up that this baby will be here early. My next doctors appointment is March 31 and so we'll see if those contractions are actually accomplishing anything. I had an ultrasond last week and Doc said that she measures small. This does not mean that they are changing my due date, it just means that she is going to be a dainty little thing at birth. I really can't complain about that considering Drew was such a tank! I can't wait to meet my little girl and put bows in her hair!!

Finally Blogging

The blog bug finally bit me! Gosh, where do I start? Drew and Tim left for four days last week to go visit Bela and Papa and I promised myself that with all my free time I would go ahead and get one of these up and running, that didn't work out for me so well. It turns out that not only had the blog bug bit me, but the Bow bug as well. . . and the latter won!! I spent four days making bows like crazy. I need to take some pictures and post them for all to see.

Drew had so much fun playing at Bela's house for four days! I am pretty sure he didn't miss me at all, which was fine because I missed him enough for the both of us. They went shopping, went to the park, saw bow-wow's, and splashed in the pool! At least that's what they tell me, still waiting on pictures.

Drew is 16, almost 17 months old now and quite the risk-taker. The kid will climb ANYTHING!!! You'll have to check out the video I posted of him climbing a 10-foot ladder all by himself. He also manages to pull out the chairs from under our countertop height dinner table and climb the chairs only to end up on top of the table!! I really have my hands full. There is not one waking moment with him that isn't filled with adventure. His new favorite word is "nah,"
which he says with great attitude as he scrunches his nose. Not my favorite word, but cute none the less.

As for me, I am now 33 weeks pregnant with Lyla. I am getting SO uncomfortable and am ready for her to make her grand entrance. I can't imagine making it another 7 weeks, she is a couple weeks shy of me serving her with an eviction notice!!! Maybe she doesn't want to come out because she knows that she'll have a bow and headband on her head upon arrival. I don't know what it is. . . forget the dresses. . . give me bows!!

It just about nap time, for both Drew and me, looking forward to updating everyone soon!!
